The Pug is susceptible to patellar luxation, epilepsy and skin problems. It is important that when contacting a Pug breeder that you express health concern issues and ask the breeder what they are doing in order to help mimimize them.
Please don't purchase your Pug from a petstore which commonly are known to support Pug puppy mills. Doing so only promotes inproper breeding ethics and promotes current Pug health issues. The AKC, UKC, FCI, CKC, SKC, WWKC, FIC registries recognize the Pug breed standard.

Character:
Easy-going and straightforward, Pugs are sociable, intelligent and calm.
Temperment:
This dog gets along well with children, other dogs, and any household pets. It may get jealous if its owner ignores it.
Coat:
Consists of short hairs. Colors can be black, beige, or silver. Must have a black mask.
Care
Loose hairs should be removed periodically with a rubber brush. Special lotion needs to be applied to the facial creases.
