The Cockapoo has a lower rate of skin problems than the Cocker Spaniel. In general the cockapoo's rate of genetic defects are lower than the poodle and the cocker spaniel. It is important that when contacting a Cockapoo breeder that you express health concern issues and ask the breeder what they are doing in order to help mimimize them.
Please don't purchase your Cockapoo from a petstore which commonly are known to support Cockapoo puppy mills. Doing so only promotes inproper breeding ethics and promotes current Cockapoo health issues. The registries recognize the Cockapoo breed standard.
