Character:
This dog bonds very closely to its family. It is watchful, protective, and playful.
Temperment:
Irish Terriers may want to fight other dogs, and need to be taught not to chase cats when young. They are friendly toward people and love children.

Outer coat is hard, but soft underneath.
Care
Hand-plucking of the hairs is necessary twice a year. Excessive hair around the pads of the feet must be trimmed and the ears must be kept clean.
