Country of Origin:
Israel - very ancient breed - cave drawings as old as 2200 BC have been found. Used for guarding and herding sheep and cattle in Israel. Their services were employed as messengers, Red Cross helpers and mine detectors during wars. .
Character:
Canaan Dogs are intelligent, docile, devoted, and willing to please.
Temperment:
This breed is generally good with other pets and dogs, but is somewhat aloof toward strangers. It is protective of its family and may be aggressive toward other dogs.
Coat:
Double coat, with soft undercoat and straight, flat outer coat.
Care
Brush the coat once a week to remove dead hairs.

White w/black, brown, or red; brown; black; w/wo white markings
