The Briard is part of the Herding group. The Briard is a dog with Excellent problem solving abilities. The trainability of the Briard is Excellent. It was breed to be good for Family Pet, Herding, Protection, Watch Dog The Briard lifestyle is Prefer outdoors and love lying in snow drifts

Country of Origin: France; created from crossing smaller herding breeds with the giant livestock guarding breeds of the area. Also saw duty as an ammunition carrier and Red Cross service dog during WW1. Brought to the US in 1777 by the Marquis de Lafayette to herd sheep. .

Character: This dog is tough, brave, alert, and loyal. It does not like teasing.

Temperment: With proper training and socialization, the Briard is a great pet that exists happily with other pets. However, it can be slightly aggressive toward other dogs, and is suspicious of strangers.

Coat: Hair is long and wavy with a light undercoat. Can be a variety of colors, but white and chestnut are not allowed.

Care Weekly grooming with a brush and comb is required. The ears must also be kept clean.

Colour: All uniform colors except white--black, fawn, grey, or tawny

Comments: Fearless, never timid, hardy and alert, possessing acute hearing. Official dog of the French army. Very lively, energetic, joyful and friendly dog with a very high intelligence and capacity for learning. Very sensitive, treat gently and fairly. Has a .
