Country of Origin: France - Belgium; The Bichon Frise is closely related to the Maltese, for approx 400 years they lived among royalty, then in the 1800's their popularity waned and they became a pet of the commoner. His agility and winsome ways earned them popularity as a circus performer or an organ grinder's dog.

Character: The Bichon Frise is responsive, affectionate, sensitive and eager to cuddle or play.

Temperment: This dog is friendly toward other dogs, children and strangers. It can can however bark a lot.

Coat: The double coat consists of a coarse curly outer coat and a soft dense outercoat. It has a puffy appearance and should spring back when patted.

Care The coat needs to be combed and brushed every other day, as well as trimmed every couple of months.

Colour: White

Comments: Their sparkling white poufy jackets and their gait, with somewhat of barely contained bounce, it makes them an attractive show contender. Powder puff dog that is a loving lap/companion. A trait of the breed is a cheerful attitude. Bichons are gentle and kind.
